The SE2722H arrived a couple of weeks early today. I got it hooked up, and here are the same desktop pics I took of the U2410 and the 2001FP I had originally. The 2410 vs 2001 thread is here: https://southernamis.wixsite.com/website/forum/general-discussions/dell-2001fp-vs-u2410
It has the same crappy stand the SE2422H had with a slightly larger base. It still wobbly so just sit still while your using it. I tried the VESA mount stand from the U2410 and it doesn't work with it. Looks like it will, but the tabs won't slide in the slots up top. Looking further at the slots, there is no metal behind inside. Maybe this case isn't meant for it. I'll poke around for a compatible mount. My guess, since this is an SE value monitor, is that it wasn't designed for one. Interestingly it has a cover for the back where the mount would go.
All three modes work fine. The mono mode comes up slightly off to the right, but you can adjust it and it remembers. The medium res mode does not have the "dropout" lines, so all letters are clearly visible on the desktop icons and such. The mono res does have some jail bars, its mainly isolated to the background dither. You can just make them out in some of the icon text (like the space in the middle of U's and D's, etc). However I am not finding it bothersome at the moment. The U2410 exhibited this same behavior, the 2001FP did as well, but not so pronounced.
Ignore the moire patterns as they are not present on the screen. There is some very slight shadowing/darkening - see the trash can icon and there is dark spot that is trashcan shaped just to the right. This effect is mostly noticeable in medium resolution.
Overall the display is entirely usable and looks good. For a modern, cheap monitor that works down to 15Hz, it is the business. Now, anyone wanna buy a near mint U2410? :P
Low res, no adjustments:
Medium res, no adjustments:
Mono res, no adjustments:
Mono res, with adjustments to both horizontal and vertical position (both set to 0) and is pretty close to centered. The color is also set to cool:
There is an aspect ration as well, it seems to help a little:
Low res (4:3, cool):
Medium res (4:3 cool):
Mono res (4:3, h=0/v=0, cool):

I didn't even use a RetroTink for my A8's. I used a $13 composite to HDMI adapter from Amazon. It wasn't bad at all for a $13 adapter.
