Yes, another restoration by the southern amis projects.. First of 2022 and a pretty good challenge. During the Atari BBS Guru’s Call, Tillek brought up Hutch BBS as a corrupt set of ATR’s and well BF2K+ had the files. One for a challenge, I grabbed the ATR’s and went to work. A bit more effort than I wanted but after a complete tear down and rewrite of the modem, answer routine, XIO’s, polling, and a hell of a lot of clean of the code, we have a restored version running at amis86.ddns.net:9001 - lot of history here, maybe Tillek or BF2K can add some of the commentary.. So once you check out Hutch, than compare with Amis XE at amis86.ddns.net:9000 and if you have not been on southernamis.ddns.net:23 you can complete the rounds followed by the full atari scene by checking out the active bbs list at http://sfhqbbs.org/ataribbslist.php
After some documentation and testing, the full project ATR will be available for download here.
There were so many bbs programs floating around in the mid 8os. None of them appealed to me. Though I think if I wasn’t overloaded with FoReM and Amis derivatives I would have looked at one of them.
I know I had hutch disks but I think they were 85o based. At that time I was a 1o3o guy. (Taking the abuse for being 3oo baud).
nice to see it dug up from the cemetery.
