Many of you know that I have been messing around with testing my MIOs for years... nothing better to do. About a month ago, on my last MIO (the MetalGuy66 MIO), I replaced the 7805 Voltage Regulator (VR1) with one of the newer lo-temp versions of this chip which seemed to be OK at the time and it did not give me any trouble that I know of... and it was cool(er)!
But about a week later, based on doctor's orders, I put the original 7805 chip back in the system, It still works the same as near as I can tell.
So today... I decided to add a little fan over top of the heat sink because the 7805 gets so hot it will burn your finger. Here's my little fan...
Cute ain't it...
I power it with a Meanwell 5vDC 3 amp power supply which also powers my ZuluScsi Mini card which is hooked to the MIO (seen on right side of pic.)
So far it is working as well as can be expected.
OK some labels...
First the gay FUJI...
And then the legend... MIO.
Damn... I just noticed the label is crooked... my bad.
